UPike to celebrate World Book Night

University of Pikeville students and faculty will be among thousands of volunteers who will go out into the communities on April 23 to share their love of reading in celebration of World Book Night.

Pikeville is among the 6,200 cities and towns represented during this year’s World Book Night event where half a million free books will be given away in the United States, the UK and Ireland.

To celebrate the event, Amanda Runyon, instructor of developmental English, is a volunteer World Book Night book giver and will be distributing copies of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Pikeville City Park.
