A group of KY students have been in Floyd Co helping make home repairs

A group of students, faculty, and parents from Louisville area, were in the mountains helping repair homes in the Big Sandy Region.

7th and 8th grade students from, St. Patrick's, in Louisville spent three days partnered with Hand in Hand Ministries, lending a helping hand in Eastern Kentucky.

Group leaders say these students will be taking more than just carpentry skills with them from this trip. Kevin Greenwood told WYMT, "We want to give people a hand up and we really stress for our children to not only do the job but meet people, make friends, and make memories."

Hand in Hand Ministries repairs 50-60 homes each year.
