Kentucky State Police aiming to reduce holiday weekend accidents

Kentucky State Police are planning to increase enforcement as well as safety checkpoints during the upcoming holiday weekend, as part of the annual "Drive Sober or get Pulled Over" campaign., State police report that during last last year there were 1,532 crashes with 470 injuries and 9 fatalities were alcohol related. Eight involved motor vehicles with no seat belts in use by the victims. The Labor Day holiday period begins at 6 pm Friday and runs through 11:59 pm on Monday.
