More Than 40 lbs Of Drugs Have Been Collected In Johnson Co.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has collected more than 40 lbs of marijuana and prescription pills.

As part of Operation UNITE's Pill Dragon Campaign, the Sheriff's Office continues to encourage folks in the county to get unwanted and unneeded drugs out of their homes. Officials say many folks bring in medicines from loved ones who died or drugs they want out of the reach of children.

Johnson County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Kevin Pelphrey told WYMT, "No questions asked, bring it in and drop it off, and we bring it back here and secure it until Operation United does a pill burn."

Officials will be conducting their next pill burn this Friday.
