A Powell Co Man Has Been Sentenced In A Deadly Crash
After a two week delay, a Powell County family now knows how long the man who killed their relative will spend in prison.
A judge sentenced Brian Epperson on Wednesday to six years behind bars. Epperson will get credit for time served.
Epperson was guilty of second-degree manslaughter, fourth-degree assault, and DUI after a 2011 crash that killed Donald Tharpe.
Police say Epperson was under the influence of Xanax, Methadone, and Oxycodone at the time of the crash.
A judge delayed sentencing two weeks ago, because his attorney hadn't filled out the necessary paperwork.
