A southeastern KY man has died in a Clay Co. car crash

Police are investigating a crash that killed a man near Manchester Friday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 2 p.m. on the Hal Rogers Parkway.

Police say a car crossed the center line, and hit the rear wheels of a coal truck.

The driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital in London, but police say he later past away.

The coroner has identified that driver as 44-year-old Ricky Sumner, of Hazard.

Jackie Bowling, 54, of Manchester was the coal truck driver, and was not injured in the accident.
