A Knott County man is sentenced to 18 years in prison on manslaughter charges

A Knott County circuit judge handed down an 18 year sentence on Thursday to Jerry Combs in connection with the death of 30 year old Eric Fugate. Prosecutors say Fugate was stabbed to death by Combs in January. Combs entered a guilty plea earlier this month. Authorities found Fugate's body in The Triplett branch area after he was reported missing by family members. Combs was sentenced to 18 years in prison but was given credit for time served.
