Big Sandy Community and Technical College announces partnership with Mountain Comp Care

Big Sandy Community and Technical College has announced a partnership with Mountain Comprehensive Care Center to provide mental health counseling for students. Dr. George Edwards, president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, said MCCC will have a therapist available to students on all of the college's four campuses (Prestonsburg, Pikeville, Paintsville and Hager Hill) Services offered by MCCC include: crisis intervention, behavioral therapy and individual counseling. Some of the common problems individuals face are depression, anxiety, panic attacks and attention span/distraction problems. Dr. Edwards stated "It is important that the college offer those who seek help the means to find help and we feel this is a great opportunity to bring valuable service to our students."
