UPDATE : An eastern Kentucky escapee is back behind bars

Updating a story that aired Thursday on Q95 news, a man who escaped from work duty on Thursday has now surrendered to police. Police say 29 year old Melvin Garland escaped from custody on Thursday and was back behind bars by Thursday evening. Garland escaped while working at the Wolf County Highway Garage in Campton. Police say he went to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Garland is now facing an escape charge.
