Mayor Jerry Fannin Served with Joint Lawsuit

The city of Prestonsburg and Mayor Jerry Fannin was served with a joint lawsuit on Friday for wrongful termination by former city police officers Chad Penix, Stevie Little, and Brian Walker. All three are being represented by Kyle Salyer of Salyer Law Office of Paintsville. After reviewing the lawsuit, provided by the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Fannin is being served individually and as his official capacity as Mayor of the City of Prestonsburg.

The main complaint stems from The City of Prestonsburg and defendant Fannin failing to comply with the statutory requirements of the Police Officer Bill of Rights. WQHY News contacted Salyer for comment, but cannot provide one, pending litigation. Salyer did confirm though that the city and Fannin will have to provide a reply within twenty days of being served. Over the next couple of weeks, WQHY will be informed about the pending lawsuits.
