Mays Branch Resident Speaks Out on Flood Concerns
Although the August flood has come and gone, some residents of Prestonsburg are still feeling the effects.
One citizen brought to the council’s attention Monday night that May’s Branch has pipes that need to be removed or more flooding could occur, citing a court case in which they should have been disposed of 10 years prior.
Mayor Les Stapleton explained that he would be willing to work with the citizen, who could provide the court documentation, along with working with engineers to help prevent future flooding.
The court case, the citizen explains was to prevent future flooding; however two of the ten pipes were still in place.
