Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin scored his third career pole at Dover International Speedway in yesterday’s qualifying. It was the 21st overall pole of Hamlin’s career. Martin Truex Jr. qualified second, followed by Kyle Larson, Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano. Points leader Kevin Harvick came in sixth, followed by Greg Biffle, last week’s winner Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Kyle Busch. Austin Dillion qualified 12th in the #3 Dow Chevrolet. The qualifying woes from last week continued for Hendrick Motorsports as Jimmie Johnson’s 14th place start was the best for the team. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start 16th, while Jeff Gordon qualified 22nd. Kasey Kahne was the last of the Hendrick cars, he will start 25th.
