According to officials 30 year old Michael Hacker fell 200 feet from the Chimney Top Rock formation in the Red River Gorge Saturday. A representative of the Wolfe County Search and Rescue team told the media that a nurse who was camping near the accident was able to confirm to rescuers that Hacker died from the fall. Rescue teams from Wolfe, Powell, and Menifee Counties worked together to retrieve the body form the gorge.
