Conway, Bevin and Curtis weigh in on Education

With the Election only two weeks away Kentucky’s three top candidates have weighed in on the future of Education. Democrat Jack Conway supports the path that Kentucky’s Education System is following right now, mentioning that College and Career readiness has jumped from 31 to 62 percent since they adopted the common core standards. Republican Matt Bevin attacked the current system, claiming it was ineffective, and supported creating education models that set higher standards. Independent candidate Drew Curtis said that he would listen to educators, and see what they would prefer. While Curtis did not have a plan to lover student debt, both Conway and Bevin agreed that the future of Kentucky’s education system may be to guide students toward advanced manufacturing degrees. As it stands polling data gives Conway a 7 point lead over Bevin.
