A Perry County man is facing attempted murder charges after he shot his roommate in the arm. 53 year old Terry Newman has pled not guilty to attempted murder and several minor charges. Witnesses say that Newman brandished the gun, but they do not believe he intended to hit Chasidy Minard. When arrested Newman claimed that the gun went off while he was removing it from the reach of a man he was arguing with. Minard did not suffer life threatening injuries, and Newman’s preliminary hearing is set for October the 27th.
