According to Pike County Judge Executive, Ray S. Jones ll, the public hearing regarding Suddenlink television service has been rescheduled.

Due to “unforeseen circumstances,” Jones says the hearing will now be held on January 12th at 4:00 p.m. in the Fiscal Court Room.

Anyone with complaints about Suddenlink television is encouraged to attend.

Jones says a way to access the hearing through zoom is also in the works.

The information from this hearing will be used to determine whether action should be taken under the franchise agreement, according to Jones.

Under state law the county has no jurisdiction over internet issues customers may have, those issues are dealt with by the FCC.

Those experiencing issues may be able to claim a violation through the Kentucky Consumer Protection Act, but issues with internet services cannot be addressed under the franchise agreement.
