A new class action lawsuit was behalf of clients of former Social Security lawyer Eric. C. Conn.

The former attorney has been at the center of lawsuits for years as hundreds of former clients fought to regain or keep their Social Security after he was sent to federal prison.

Judge Amul Thapar ruled that Conn is unable to practice social security law after resigning from veterans court 20 years ago while Conn was under investigation.

In order to practice social security law as an attorney, the attorney must validate the previous disqualification from another federal program never occurred.

Conn falsely verified his entitlement in hundreds of cases according to Judge Thapar.

The latest lawsuit centers on several others made against former clients for claimed litigation expenses, where the former attorney was able to receive hundreds of judgments, bench warrants, and orders of jail sentences for contempt.

The lead plaintiff, James Gillman, was sued by Conn back in 2004 and received a ten-day jail sentence because he allegedly failed to answer interrogatories on time.

The suit was filed by Pillersdorf Law Offices.
