During his daily update on Thursday, January 14th, Gov. Beshear reported 4,084 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 317,345, with 252,694 of those cases being lab confirmed and 64,651 are probable.

This makes a total of 3,042 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 229 of those are probable and only 2,813 are lab confirmed.
A total of 3,709,482 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,378,562 were PCR Test, 104,306 were serology test, and 226,614 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 12.34%.
Currently 1,661 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 548 in the ICU and 196 on a ventilator.
Top counties with the most positive cases Thursday were: Jefferson, Kenton, Boone, Oldham and Fayette. Each of these counties reported 170 or more new cases; Jefferson County alone reported 642.
On a positive note, at least 39,998 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that 324,650 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 172,537 doses have been administered. Of the doses administered, 28,977 have been given to long-term care facility residents and staff.
More than 67,000 doses were administered from Jan. 3 to 9, about 30,000 more doses than were administered the week prior. Since Jan. 10, more than 45,000 additional doses have been administered.
