COVID-19 Daily Report for Kentucky on January 18th

As of Monday the state of Kentucky has reported 1,998 new cases of COVID-19. This bring’s Kentucky’s total cases to 328,668, with 261,527 of those cases being lab confirmed and 67,141 are probable.

40 new deaths were reported Monday. This makes a total of 3,167 Kentuckians lost to the virus; though 244 of those are probable and only 2,923 are lab confirmed.

A total of 3,788,808 COVID-19 test have been administered in Kentucky. 3,435,510 were PCR Test, 104,916 were serology test, and 248,382 were antigen test. The positivity rate currently stands at 11.64%.

Currently 1,587 Kentuckians are hospitalized due COVID-19 related symptoms. With 397 in the ICU and 208 on a ventilator.

On a positve note, at least 40,761 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus. The Governor’s office also reports that 226,175 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been received in Kentucky and 213,567 doses have been administered. Of the doses administered, 36,370 have been given to long-term care facility residents and staff.
