On Friday, June 11th Governor Andy Beshear signed an executive order that ended nearly all COVID19 restrictions for the state. The order eliminated all curfews, capacity restrictions, and most mask requirements other than for hospitals and public transportation.

Beshear stated that Friday’s briefing would be the last COVID19 specific briefing that would be held for Kentucky, stating COVID is still a threat, but is no longer a crisis.

2.1 million Kentuckians have gotten at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, all of which are also eligible for the on-going vaccination lottery that will award three vaccinated adults with $1 million and fifteen vaccinated students (12-17) with a full ride scholarship to any public Kentucky college, university or technical school.

On Sunday, Beshear reported 88 positive COVID cases and 3 new deaths. The positivity has dropped to 2.02% with 221 hospitalized, 64 in intensive care and 34 on ventilators.
