Man Arrested For Endangering Daughter With Poor Home Conditions

police-lights-2

A man out of Pike County is now in jail after police say his house provided living conditions that were unfit and unsafe for his daughter.

Police went to the house on Jay Street, belonging to 48-year-old Anthony Conrad, after the child’s grandmother reported her concerns that the 7-year-old was being neglected.

Police reported that, upon entering the home, they found garbage smeared along the floors along with dog droppings and a very foul odor coming from within the home. They are also said to have found two steak knives on the floor.

Police also reported that both Conrad and his daughter were dressed in very dirty clothes, and both displayed poor hygiene.

Police discovered both a rifle and a handgun in the home as well, in spite of Conrad having previously been convicted of a felony.

Conrad was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and a felon in possession of a firearm.
