A man out of Harlan County was recently charged following the discovery of his girlfriend dead inside his home.

 

Police received a call concerning a woman who was said to not be breathing this past Friday. According to detectives, after receiving the location of the emergency, they made contact with 58-year-old Donald Turner, who was the owner of the home.

 

Turner’s girlfriend, Ashley North, was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead by the Harlan County Coroner.

 

Detectives over the case said that the woman’s injuries along with evidence at the scene led them to believe that Turner had seriously injured her and caused her death.

 

Turner was arrested and charged with imprisonment and kidnapping. He is now being held in the Harlan County Detention Center.

 

This case is still under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
