Now, an update from the Martin County Sheriff’s Department:

A prisoner is said to now be facing more charges after he kicked the window out of a transport vehicle in an attempt to escape.

35-year-old Todd Whitt, of Louisa, is now facing charges of escape and criminal mischief. These charges will add to the two counts of attempted murder he received following a stabbing.

In June of last year, Whitt was arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman inside of her home on Buffalo Horn Road, in Louisa.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s house in search of help. According to deputies, Whitt followed her and ended up allegedly stabbing the neighbor as well. He was being held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
