Man Arrested After Allegedly Violating Sex Offender Registry

arrest3-2

A man out of Floyd County, who had reached a plea deal in a sex abuse case earlier this year, was arrested again on Monday.

59-year-old Larry Martin, who was living in Salyersville, is now listed as a resident of Prestonsburg. He was charged with sexually abusing a child under the age of 12 back in 2021. In February, he pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful transaction with a minor. He was sentenced to time in prison, but was required to register as a sex offender for the next 20-years.

The charge Martin picked up on Monday was for failure to comply with the sex offender registry. Court records do not specify in what way Martin was in violation of the registry.

He is currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
