Officials have released more information concerning the fatal crash that occurred this Monday on U.S. 23

Kentucky State Police confirmed that 65 year old James Boyd of Garrett was killed in the incident, when he walked in front of a SUV that was driven by a man from Indiana. 

Paramedics who arrived on the scene brought Boyd to a nearby hospital, but he later died due to his injuries.

The incident happened shortly after 8 pm on US 23 near the Alpike Motel in Floyd County.

The crash is still under investigation.
