The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is asking Kentucky boat owners to hold off on renewing their registration due to a decal reprint.

According to officials. Starting on Monday, April 3rd, Motorboat registration requests will be accommodated at all County Clerk offices in the state.

Although annual renewals are usually accepted starting March 1st, additional time is needed for all the decal vendors to reprint and deliver tags that are required for registration.

The reprint is necessary due to a label defect during the initial print of the tags. This is to ensure the tags will be durable when exposed to water.

April 30. 2023 is the expiration date for current registrations.
