The 15th Regional Baseball and Softball tournaments wrapped up this week as the Pikeville Panthers baseball team and the Johnson Central Lady Golden Eagles softball team advanced to the state tournament.

The Panthers defeated the Johnson Central Golden Eagles in the championship game with Pikeville Panther Dylan Thompson being crowned the 2023 15th Region Baseball Tournament MVP.

Will Lafferty of Lawrence County, Jake Varney of Belfry, Brady Bentley of Shelby Valley, Jake Bentley of Floyd Central, Cameron Shearer and Blake Hager of Pike Central, Jonah Porter and Conner Fugate of Paintsville, Cameron Kelsey, Cole Ward and Brock Butcher of Johnson Central, and Isaac Duty, Jeb Wilkerson, Wade Hensley and Bash Ryan of Pikeville all made the 15th Region Baseball All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Golden Eagles defeated the Lawrence County Lady Bulldogs in the championship game of the 15th region softball tournament with Mayson Delong of Johnson Central being crowned the 2023 15th Region Softball Tournament MVP.

Laney Bledsoe and Caroline Brown of Pikeville, Mia Queen Gilliam of Floyd Central, Chloe Hannah of Pike Central, Kyra Looney and Lilly Blackburn of Shelby Valley, Molly Fahm and Natalie Fite of Belfry, Bree Jones, Abby Nelson and Taylor Blevins of Lawrence County, and Kaylee Blair, JRandi Delong, Adyson Burchett and Maddie Vaughn of Johnson Central all made the 15th Region softball All-Tournament Team.
