Prestonsburg, Ky – All regional driver licensing offices in Kentucky will be closed next Thursday and Friday as the state upgrades its nearly 40‑year‑old licensing system and launches a new online portal called “myDrive.” The portal will let Kentuckians pre‑apply for a license, permit or ID, request a replacement card, and check their license status, among other services. Officials say the upgrade is meant to modernize how the state does business and ask anyone with upcoming licensing needs to visit an office before the temporary shutdown. All offices are set to reopen Monday, June 8.
