In Magoffin County, community members are rallying around the family of 13 year old Brooklyn Caldwell. The teenager was badly injured in an ATV crash last Wednesday on Rock House Road in Salyersville. Caldwell is currently at Cabell Huntington Hospital with head injuries. Yesterday at Ramey Memorial Park in Salyersville, hundreds of people joined hands to show support. Her doctors originally did not expect her to live, but she underwent surgery to ease the swelling on her brain on Sunday. Caldwell’s brother Blake was released from the hospital last Friday. Doctors will be able to access the extent of her brain injuries after she is eased off sedation.
