The Pittsburgh Pirates now have 40 wins this season after defeating the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 last night at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Francisco Cervelli hit a three-run homer in the 4th inning that started a huge momentum charge for the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen then blasted a two-run shot off Pedro Villarreal to end a fourth inning that sealed the game for the Pirates. For Cincinnati, Jay Bruce homered to drive in three runs in the first inning. The Reds will also score a run in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. However, that powerful 4th inning for the Pirates put them ahead just enough to win the game. The two teams will go at it again tonight at PNC Park at 7:05pm. Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole will get the start for Pittsburgh, while Mike Leake will take the field first for the Reds.
