Major flooding took place in Floyd and Johnson Counties last night as a long thunderstorm dropped around 4 inches of rain in less than 2 hours.  Creeks and streams in the area overflowed and caused many roadways to be flooded.  In Johnson County, its reported 5-6 feet of water covered parts of Route 581 during the flood’s worst moments.  The water has since receded in the area.
