Greg Stumbo removing Confederate States Statue

An Eastern Kentucky politician is calling for a controversial statues removal. Kentucky house speaker, Greg Stumbo, of Floyd County, announced that he is going to call for removal of the Jefferson Davis statue from the Capitol Rotunda. Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederate States of America and was born in the commonwealth. Stumbo calls for the statue to be moved to the state history museum in Frankfort. Stumbo stated, if they had the courage to do it in South Carolina, surely we’ve got the courage to stand up and do what’s right in Kentucky. Last week a commission voted 7-2 to keep the statue.
