An Eastern Kentucky sheriff’s office is going to have to tighten its belt, after a motion to increase their funding floundered. Members of the Letcher County fiscal court failed to pass the 25-thousand dollar increase. The department has seen their budget drop from over 200,000 to under 150,000.
Judge Executive Jim Ward was among those who voted against the measure, station that it was a hard decision but the county just doesn’t have the excess funds.
