A document from a gas company has a Floyd County community up in arms. Customers of the Frontier Gas Company received notice that service could be severed if their appliances were not up to code. With winter around the corner, the citizens of Wayland were understandably concerned. Mike Harris represented the gas company at the Wayland City Commission meeting, and assured them that service would not be cut for minor issues. But he highlighted two infractions that would force the company to shut off their service, which included using plastic piping above ground and having unventilated gas appliances since they pose an imminent threat. The company assured people that it would give any homeowner time to address any issue before shutting off their service, and urged people with questions to contact them at (606) 886-2431.
