A Northeastern Kentucky community could be facing some water woes. Ashland has suffered some major issues with regard to their water treatment facility. According to officials, the plant is supposed to put out 24 million gallons of water a day, but maintenance issues have more than halved that number. The city has begun a 1.13 million dollar project to right the facility, but it could cause more strain on the weak system. Plant managers believe that the maintenance could cause low water pressure and some outages for the next 2 to 4 weeks. Ashland City Commissioner Kevin Gunderson worries that the water troubles could have an adverse effect on the economic growth of the city.
