After finally agreeing on a jury pool, opening statements were given in the trial of former Massey CEO Don Blankenship. The prosecution called Tracy Stumbo as their first witness, who gave a tutorial on how mining ventilation works. Stumbo had worked in the mining industry for four decades, and had served as a mine inspector and Chief Accident Inspector for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
