Can a text save a life

A new program would offer teens and young adults counseling through text. Samaritans incorporated of Massachusetts has kicked off the imitative in hopes of reaching more distraught youths. According to the American Association of Suicidology, over 5-thousand people under 24 took their own lives in 2013. According to Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman, who is the vice president of research at the American Foundation for suicide prevention, texting could give these young people an outlet to express their emotions which a phone call wouldn’t.
