Residents in a small Magoffin County community hope a local attraction will help their town blossom. Royalton was recently names as the 10th trail town in Kentucky, as it is the middle point along the new Dawkins Line Rail Trail. The trail is open to cyclist, horseback riders and pedestrians, and takes patrons through Johnson, Magoffin, and Breathitt Counties. Officials in Royalton expect business to pop up around the trail, like the Royalton Cyclery bike shop. While business has not been good for the shop, it owner Don Fields hold out hope that business will take off soon.
