Plans for a new veteran’s cemetery are underway. Officials announced that Kentucky will receive a 6 million dollar grant from the National Cemetery Administration. According to Governor Steve Beshear the 6 million dollar grant will be used to create the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery South East in Leslie County. The proposed cemetery will be located just north of Hindman, and will include an entry gate, administrative buildings, a shelter and a Columbarium.
