Andy Beshear on exploitation and abuse in Kentucky

A Democratic candidate says he will use his office to make our state safer for children and elders. During a speaking tour of Eastern Kentucky Andy Beshear highlighted scams targeting seniors and Kentucky’s high percentage of child abuse. Beshear is running for the office of Attorney General and he says that he will mobilize the power of that office to make a difference. *audio* with dedicated prosecutors, investigators and policy experts, whose sole job day in and day out is to chip away at that problem. We use better technology to keep these predators out of our daycares and our schools, and then we close the gaps in our child care industry. I’ll give you one example, summer camps. There is not one rule or regulation in the commonwealth about who can, and more importantly who can’t work at a summer camp. Beshear also plans to create a hotline that will streamline the ability of seniors to report scams in their community.
