Has the Democratic party slipped?

After a rough night for the Kentucky Democratic Party many are asking if the state will continue to vote red. When the new candidates take office The Republican party will have occupied two of the three government building, with only the house remaining under Democratic control. Several republican are calling this a “Watershed” election, and claim that it marks an end to the Democratic majority in the state. But according to House Speaker Democrat Greg Stumbo, the democrats have good years and bad years and they will win future races with the right candidates. According to Stumbo, “Middle class values, protecting education, taking up for working class families, those are still good issues in Kentucky. It’s just that we have to have candidates that articulate them”.
