A coal corporation is trying to eliminate benefits for 45-hundred retirees. Alpha energy is a coal conglomerate based out of Bristol Virginia, and has coal operations in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Wyoming. In a recent bankruptcy filing, the company broached the idea of cutting health and all non-pension benefits for its non-union workers. If the move is approved the benefits will be cut by December the 31st.
