Archer Park Welcome a New Ornament

A local man’s newest masterpiece honors his Grandfather and other veterans. Mark Vance is a self described starving artist, who has gained some acclaim recently for being handy with a chainsaw. His works of art now grace the public park, and his newest addition was unveiled on Friday. The 5’8’’ World War II soldier, holding a Thompson sub machine gun, proudly stood guard before the veterans ornament wall. According to park director Richie Schoolcraft, Vance stayed in the park working on the soldier for several days, only taking brakes to sleep and eat. Several councilmen and Mayor Les Stapleton were in attendance for the unveiling.
