Martin County may has a shelter solution

The Martin County Animal Shelter has been the center of media attention over the past few months. The shelter has dealt with overcrowding and recently faced a break in county funding. But the county has offered the shelter, and some diminished support to the Stray Hearts Animal Rescue. The court offered the shelter to the group for 1 dollar a year, and promised to subsidize them with 400 dollars a month plus 15 dollars per dog, leaving the group to pay only the electric and water bill. Stray Hearts has put off accepting the deal because they want the building brought up to code before they take responsibility for it.
