A Johnson County native was in the national spotlight last night

Marlana Vanhoose has sung at several venues, and is considered by many to be an inspiration. Vanhoose was born with Cytomegalovirus, which prevented her optic nerves from forming, and by age three she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The young girl has not let that hold her back, and has made her name as a singer and inspirational speaker. Last night she sang the National Anthem at the Monday Night Football match, between the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens.
