Officials say a new drug has appeared in the mountains

After deputies in Harlan County responded to a domestic dispute call, they stumbled onto a substance they are referring to as “super marijuana”. Its street names are “Marijuana Wax” and “Marijuana Butter”, and it can contain up to 8 times the THC of organic weed. The drug is chemically processed, and sells for about 45 dollars a gram. In a statement to WYMT Harlan County Deputy Winston Yearly said they found 30-thousand dollars worth of product in the home. Officials believe the discovery halted a major distribution point for the region.
