The Kentucky Senate hopes to close a loophole in sexual abuse cases

This measure will allow victims to testify to a pattern of abuse, without having to remember exact dates of the incidents. The Bill was created in response to a Kentucky Supreme Court case, where a man was convicted of molesting his 6 year old stepdaughter over a five month period. The case was overturned because the child could not give exact dates of the assaults. The legislation passed with a landslide 36-0 vote, similar legislation has already been passed in the house. The bill is receiving heavy support from the Commonwealth’s Attorney General Andy Beshear.
