Pike County released warrants for 40 people who have accumulated an excessive amount of child support debt. County Attorney Howard Keith Hall’s office decided to use digital E-warrants to pursue the offenders because it will send up a red flag any time an officer stops them. While the goal of this aggressive move is to punish delinquent parents, officials hope it will discourage minor offenders from following suit. In a statement to Appalachian News Express Hall claimed, he is only pursuing individuals who have not made contact with his office or made payments on their excessive debts.
