A local couple is working to preserve history

The Old Black Mountain Methodist Church was built in 1860, and was rebuilt in 1950 after a fire damaged it. Since then the building fell into disrepair and was slated for demolition. Magistrate Bill Moore and his wife Vickie purchased the building and have spent the last three years restoring it to its former glory. The Moore’s have converted the old church into a home, and intend on utilizing it for weddings and community events.
