The Martin Community has been plagued with seasonal flooding. The Martin Redevelopment Project will receive an additional 2.5 million dollars in funding to help combat the problem. To date numerous homes and businesses have been relocated from the flood zone. The city’s strategy revolves around mandatory floodplain evacuation, relocating public facilities, property acquisition and flood proofing.
